What Is Lotus365 Exchange?

Lotus365 Exchange is the part of our betting service where opposing positions are matched in the same market. One customer backs an outcome, while another customer lays it.

This differs from our sportsbook. A sportsbook accepts a bet at a price offered by us. On the exchange, a bet requires a corresponding position at the requested price or a better price.

Exchange termMeaning
BackA bet that the selected outcome will happen
LayA bet that the selected outcome will not happen
StakeThe amount entered for the position
LiabilityThe maximum potential loss on a Lay bet
MatchedAn amount accepted against a corresponding position
UnmatchedAn amount still waiting for another position
ExposureThe amount currently at risk across open positions
Traded priceThe price at which opposing bets were matched

Our exchange rules distinguish between matched and unmatched bets. A submitted order is not fully active until the required amount has been matched.

Lotus365 Exchange Login

The Lotus365 Exchange login uses the same account details as the rest of the site. A separate exchange ID is not required when the account already has access to the Exchange section.

After signing in, the account area can show:

  • available balance;
  • available credit, where applicable;
  • total net exposure;
  • open exchange positions;
  • matched and unmatched orders;
  • settled markets;
  • bonus wallet, where an eligible offer has been issued.

The live interface currently includes fields for Available Credit, Available Balance, Total Net Exposure and Bonus Wallet.

Use the standard Lotus365 login page connected to your account. Password recovery, new account creation and identity checks are covered on the account pages rather than repeated here.

How Back and Lay Betting Works

Back and Lay betting lets you take either side of the same market. Choose Back when you expect an outcome to happen, or Lay when you expect it not to happen. Before confirming a position, review the odds, stake, potential profit and the full liability displayed for a Lay bet.

Lotus365 back and lay

Back bet example

Suppose you back India at decimal odds of 2.20 with a ₹1,000 stake.

Potential profit:

₹1,000 × (2.20 − 1) = ₹1,200

Potential return:

₹1,000 + ₹1,200 = ₹2,200

If India wins under the market rules, the gross profit is ₹1,200 before any applicable commission. If India does not win, the loss is the ₹1,000 stake.

Lay bet example

Suppose you lay India at odds of 2.20 against a ₹1,000 Back stake.

Your liability is:

₹1,000 × (2.20 − 1) = ₹1,200

If India does not win, the gross profit is the other customer’s ₹1,000 stake before any applicable commission. If India wins, your loss is the ₹1,200 liability.

For this reason, the amount at risk on a Lay bet can be larger than the stake shown beside the position. The order screen displays the liability before confirmation.

Matched and Unmatched Bets

A requested price does not guarantee that the complete stake will be accepted immediately. The market needs enough opposing money at that price.

For example, you request a ₹1,000 Back bet at 2.50, but only ₹600 is currently available.

The order can be divided into:

  • ₹600 matched at 2.50;
  • ₹400 unmatched and waiting in the market.

The matched ₹600 is an active bet. The unmatched ₹400 is not yet part of the position.

Another customer can match the remaining amount later. It may also be matched at a better price when one becomes available. The Lotus365 rules state that Exchange Runs orders are matched at the requested line or better.

You can cancel an unmatched amount while the cancellation option remains available. Cancelling it does not remove the part already matched.

We may also cancel unmatched orders when a market starts, changes status or requires intervention. Our rules allow unmatched bets to be cancelled for customer protection, and in-play rules can require unmatched bets to be removed when a market is turned live.

Available Balance, Liability and Net Exposure

The available balance is the amount that can still be used for new positions. A matched Back stake reduces that available amount. A Lay order reserves its calculated liability.

Total net exposure is not necessarily the sum of every stake shown on screen. Opposing positions in the same market can offset part of the risk.

For example:

  • Back Team A for ₹1,000 at 3.00;
  • Lay Team A for ₹1,200 at 2.00.

If both orders are fully matched, the second position reduces the risk created by the first. The account calculates the result for each possible market outcome and reserves the highest potential loss.

Partial matching can leave a different exposure from the figure expected when the order was entered. Check the matched amount and current market position rather than relying only on the original stake.

An unmatched Lay order can also reserve funds while it remains open. Cancelling that unmatched amount releases the corresponding reserved liability.

Lotus365 Exchange Odds and Liquidity

Exchange prices are created by the Back and Lay orders available in the market. The amount beside a price indicates how much can currently be matched there.

A market with more available money usually allows a larger position to be matched without moving through several prices. A market with less liquidity may produce:

  • partial matching;
  • a wider difference between Back and Lay prices;
  • smaller available amounts;
  • faster price changes;
  • an unmatched balance.

We do not describe every exchange price as automatically better than a sportsbook price. Compare the current price, available amount, potential liability and applicable commission before submitting the position.

Where commission applies, it is calculated under the rate assigned to the account or product. Check the current account terms rather than relying on a permanent percentage quoted on another website.

Exchange Runs

Exchange Runs are cricket line markets with rules that differ from ordinary Match Odds.

Our current rules specify that:

  • opposing Exchange Runs bets are matched through the exchange;
  • orders are matched at the requested run line or a better line;
  • the format uses decimal odds;
  • these bets are placed at odds of 2.00.

At odds of 2.00, a ₹1,000 winning Back position produces a gross profit of ₹1,000 before any applicable commission.

The run line determines which side wins. Always distinguish the line from the odds:

  • the line represents the number of runs;
  • 2.00 is the price applied to the position.

Exchange Runs can be void when a rain interruption or another reduction leaves fewer overs than the number required by the market. The bet can remain valid when the batting side reaches its target or is bowled out without the innings being reduced below the stipulated market length.

Lotus365 Betting Exchange Markets

Our exchange can contain pre-match and in-play markets across cricket, football, tennis, kabaddi and racing, depending on the current event schedule.

Lotus365 exchange markets

The exchange-specific market groups can include:

Market typeExchange function
Match OddsBack or Lay an event outcome
Set or period winnerTrade the result of a named part of an event
Exchange RunsTrade a cricket run line at 2.00
Session and innings marketsTake a position on a defined cricket period
Race win marketBack or Lay a named runner
Race place marketTrade whether a runner finishes in a qualifying place
Exchange multiplesCombine eligible racing selections where offered

Our Lotus365 betting page covers the available cricket, IPL, football and other fixed-odds sports markets. This page deals only with the exchange mechanics shared by those markets.

Rules can differ between products even when the event and selection names look similar. Our rules state that the same outcome can be settled differently on separate products when their market conditions differ.

Live Trading on Lotus365 Exchange

We turn eligible markets in-play after the event begins. Back and Lay prices can then change in response to the score, time, market activity and available liquidity.

We can suspend a live market during a material event or while event data is being checked. In football, a material event includes a goal, a penalty award or a red card. Bets unfairly matched after such an event can be voided if the market was not suspended at the correct time. Bets matched between an event and its cancellation by VAR can also be voided.

Live pictures and score feeds may be delayed. Our rules specifically warn that broadcasts described as live can be delayed or pre-recorded and that the length of the delay depends on how the pictures or data are received.

The account holder remains responsible for managing in-play orders. An apparent delay on a screen does not stop an order from being matched against current market activity.

One-Click Exchange Betting

One-click betting submits an order without the normal multi-stage confirmation flow.

It can reduce the time between selecting a price and placing the order, but it also increases the risk of entering:

  • the wrong side;
  • the wrong stake;
  • an unintended price;
  • a second order while the first is processing.

Our rules make the account holder responsible for errors made while using the one-click option.

Set the one-click stake before opening a live market. Do not use the feature until the difference between Back stake and Lay liability is clear.

Trading Out of an Exchange Position

An exchange position can sometimes be reduced by placing an opposing order.

Suppose you backed a selection for ₹1,000 at 3.00. The selection later shortens to 2.00.

A Lay order of ₹1,500 at 2.00 would produce the following gross position if both orders were fully matched:

If the selection wins:

₹2,000 Back profit − ₹1,500 Lay liability = ₹500

If the selection loses:

₹1,500 Lay profit − ₹1,000 Back loss = ₹500

This calculation is before any applicable commission.

The equalising Lay stake is:

Back stake × Back odds ÷ current Lay odds

₹1,000 × 3.00 ÷ 2.00 = ₹1,500

This is a trading calculation, not a guarantee that ₹1,500 will be available at 2.00. A partial match or a price change leaves an uneven result.

When a Cash Out control is shown, it can perform the opposing calculation through the interface. Cash Out is not guaranteed to remain available. It can disappear when the market is suspended or when there is not enough opposing liquidity.

Can an Exchange Bet Be Edited or Cancelled?

A matched bet cannot normally be edited or cancelled. The price, side and matched amount remain part of the market position until settlement or an applicable void decision.

An unmatched order can be cancelled before it is matched, provided the market still accepts cancellations. Any amount matched before the cancellation remains active.

Do not repeat an order solely because the screen is slow. Open the current market position and check:

  • matched amount;
  • unmatched amount;
  • average matched price;
  • current exposure.

We can void or resettle bets when a technical failure, incorrect market, material event or settlement error affects the integrity of the market. Our rules also allow incorrect prices or lines to be voided.

Exchange Market Settlement

We generally settle a market shortly after the event finishes. Settlement uses the applicable sport rules and the official result or another result source permitted by those rules.

The following time periods can affect a settlement:

SituationRule period
Correction announced after initial settlementUp to 24 hours
New result information after settlementConsidered within 48 hours
Match or individual event not completedUsually void after 3 days, unless already determined
Tournament awaiting an official rulingRuling may be considered within 90 days
Test match completion extensionUp to 5 days after the original completion date in the stated circumstances

A market can remain suspended for settlement while an uncertain result is reviewed. We can also reverse an earlier settlement when the official result differs, the market is voided or the original settlement contained an error.

A resettlement can change the account balance after an earlier credit or deduction.

Racing Non-Runner Reductions

A withdrawn runner can change the traded prices or potential winnings on the remaining runners.

Under our exchange rules:

  • a reduction factor of at least 2.5% can reduce matched Win prices and cancel unmatched Lay offers;
  • a Place-market reduction applies even below 2.5%;
  • unmatched Place Lay offers are cancelled when the reduction factor is at least 4.0%;
  • a reduced traded price cannot fall below 1.01.

For example, the rules show how a 25% reduction factor can reduce a traded price of 8.0 to 6.25 in the relevant Win-market calculation. Further withdrawals can result in additional reductions.

These rules apply to exchange racing markets and should not be transferred to cricket, football or tennis.

Promotions, Wallet and Mobile Access

The Exchange uses the same Lotus365 account balance as the other eligible products in the account. Deposits, withdrawals and transaction references are handled through our Cashier and are explained on the payments pages.

When an exchange promotion is active, check its qualifying markets, minimum matched amount, expiry, commission or cashback conditions before opting in. An unmatched order does not necessarily count as a qualifying bet.

The current Android version and installation instructions are available on the Lotus365 app page. The browser and supported app routes use the same Lotus365 Exchange login and open positions.

Questions About Lotus365 Exchange

  • Why was my bet matched at a different price?
    An exchange order can be matched at the requested price or a better available price. If several prices are used, the account can display an average matched price.
  • Why did my unmatched order disappear when the event started?
    The market may have cancelled unmatched orders before being turned in-play. We can also cancel unmatched orders when required to protect customers or manage the market.
  • Why is my Lay liability higher than the entered stake?
    The Lay stake is the amount you can win from the opposing Back position. Liability is the amount lost if the laid selection wins. It is calculated as Lay stake × (odds − 1).
  • Why does Total Net Exposure differ from one open bet?
    The account calculates exposure across the possible outcomes in the market. Opposing Back and Lay positions can offset each other, while partially matched positions can leave additional risk.
  • Is Lotus365 Exch a separate service?
    No. “Lotus365 exch” is a shortened search term for the Lotus365 Exchange. Use the same Lotus365 Exchange login and account ID rather than creating another account.
  • Why was a settled market changed later?
    A market can be resettled after an official correction, new information, a void decision or an original settlement error. The resulting adjustment appears in the account balance and market history.
